On October 17, on the occasion of "the 7th National Poverty Alleviation Day", the 2020 National Poverty Alleviation Award Recognition Conference and the first report on advanced deeds of poverty alleviation and fortification were solemnly held in Beijing, which commended 99 individuals and 49 organizations who won the 2020 National Poverty Alleviation Award. Professor Gao Yan was awarded the "National Poverty Alleviation Award for Innovation".
Professor Gao Yan's scientific research work has always responded to the needs of "facing the main battlefield of the economy", focusing on the problems of "straw burning", "livestock and poultry excrement pollution" and "saline-alkali land treatment" that restrict the development of agriculture. After scientific analysis, it is found that there are 500 million mu of saline-alkali land in China that cannot be used, and the harmless disposal problem of an annual output of 900 million tons of straw and 3.8 billion tons of livestock and poultry excrement. Since 2016, he has devoted himself to the research of biomass resources utilization and saline-alkali soil improvement, implemented the poverty alleviation demonstration project of "comprehensive utilization of rapid liquefaction agricultural waste to improve saline-alkali soil" in Tongyu County, Jilin Province, and prepared solid and liquid organic fertilizer from agricultural waste such as straw under the action of water. This project not only realizes the improvement of saline-alkali soil, but also solves the environmental pollution problems caused by the long production cycle of traditional organic fertilizer, straw burning, and livestock and poultry excrement abandonment, and provides a unique solution for the construction of ecological agriculture, circular agriculture, low-carbon agriculture, as well as the promotion of sustainable agricultural development and beautiful rural construction, which has a strong promotion value all over the country.
